T&Cs

We're so excited to welcome you to The Rocket House. Before subscribing or posting a job with us, please read these Terms and Conditions (T&Cs). By registering with us, subscribing, downloading the app or using the “Post a job” feature, you're giving us the green light to move forward with you, thus agreeing to our T&Cs (click on each section for more information). These form a binding contractual agreement between you, the client and user, and us, The Rocket House Ltd.

Quick heads up: The Rocket House does not employ any of the candidates (babysitters, teachers, tutors and nannies) directly or indirectly but only targets and introduces suitable candidates to parents. On The Rocket House App, parents and professionals can set up their profile to transact with each other directly, however The Rocket House only provides the platform to allow connections or bookings to happen.

The agency fee or app subscription does not cover any part of the candidate’s trials, salary or hourly/daily rates. Both the family (client), and the candidate, are responsible for agreeing on remuneration, duties and meet employment and tax obligations.
If you have any questions, please contact us. Thank you!

  • Full T&Cs can be shared upon request by clients actively looking for placements, here you can find some of the main points.

    Placement, Replacement Invoicing and Refund:

-The Client acknowledges that the Agency does not employ any of the Candidates directly or indirectly but only targets and introduces suitable Candidates to the Client.

-The Client and Candidate acknowledge that any recurring jobs over 16h per week must be made via the Agency and not the App.

    - The Client shall provide to the Agency a request counting all expectations relating to the proposed employment including full details of work for which the Candidate is desired. The Rocket House is not responsible for any negotiations or changes as this must be managed by both the Candidate and the Client.

-A Permanent Placement is an Engagement requested as being permanent by the Client, regardless of its duration or weekly hours.

    - The Client shall immediately notify the Agency upon any offers of employment made to the Candidate to indicate they wish to hire the Candidate we introduced to them.

-The Client shall pay the Agency fee to the Agency should the Candidate, who has been introduced to the Client by the Agency, is engaged or employed by the client. This is to cover our search and placement services as we have a dedicated Talent Acquisition team working hard to find the best candidates for families.

-If an applicant (Candidate) engaged by the Client does not remain engaged by the client for at least four weeks, or it just does not work out, the Agency will try to find a replacement. If the family does not want a replacement, we will provide a full refund if this terms and conditions have been met and minus the engamenet fee (£100 to cover our administrative fees). For the T&Cs to be met, The Client must inform the Agency in writing within the first 4 weeks.

-The Agency agrees to refund the client in full if the Candidate fails to honour the Engagement before their commencement date if the terms and conditions have been met.

-The Agency acts as a means of introduction of The Candidates only. The Rocket House Agency can provide a ‘contract template’ as a guide, however The Rocket House is not responsible for how the Client and Candidate will negotiate, personalise or use this contract template.

-The Client shall satisfy itself as to the suitability of the applicant and is responsible for obtaining work and other permits, if so required. We recommend that families personally interview and trial candidates to ensure they are suitable and a nice fit to their family and home. Any trials must be agreed solely between the Candidate and the Client including any payments, invoices and methods of payment for those trials.

    - The Client is responsible for complying with all employment, taxation, fiscal and other relevant legislation in respect of the contract of employment or contract for services as well as ensuring they have employers’ liability insurance for the Candidate. The Client is also responsible for requesting any medical reports under the Access to Medical Reports Act 1988.

-By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, the Client take receipt of their duty to remunerate the Agency for the Introduction of a Candidate followed by its Engagement. The Client agrees not to, directly or indirectly, avoid or bypass the Agency with the intent of depriving the Agency of its Agency fees.

-The Client acknowledges that the Agency Fee does not cover any trials or any part of the Candidate’s salary.

-The Client agrees to pay the Agency Fee within 7 days of the invoice being issued. All payment must be settled in full GBP Sterling and the Client is solely responsible for all bank transfers, currency conversions and other fees and charges allowing the Agency to receive the payment in full. Any amounts not settled when due under this Agreement might generate interest.

-Candidates agree not to start a job managed by The Rocket House Nanny Agency until the Agency Fee (search and placement fees) have been paid in full by the family. Therefore we will not be able to confirm a placement until the invoice has been paid by the family.

-Candidates acknowledge that The Agency acts as a means of introduction of The Candidates to Clients only. Any trials, payments or employment negotiations or agreements must be done between the Candidate and Client only.

    Limitation of Liability

-All information provided by either party to the other will be treated as strictly confidential and will not be disclosed by either party to any third parties, unless required by law or regulation.
